Website and game · Updated 9 October 2026
This page describes the Magpie Panic website and browser game from Mindset Cyber, plus privacy controls in the released Android app and upcoming iOS app. The browser game is available on this website. Website analytics, advertising and game privacy choices are separate.
What stays on your device
When optional analytics is available, we use browser storage to remember your allow or decline choice for up to 180 days. This preference stays on your device. If storage is unavailable, your choice applies to the current page only. Clearing this website’s data removes the saved preference.
The browser game stores your personal best score, furthest ride, progress and settings locally in this browser. There is no account or cross-device cloud save. Clearing site data can remove these records. If browser storage is blocked, you can still play, but progress may last only for the session.
Website hosting
Cloudflare delivers this website and its preview artwork and videos. Like other hosting services, it processes request information such as your IP address, browser information and the time of a request to deliver and secure the service. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for information about its processing.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics is available only if you choose “Allow analytics.” Before that, we do not load Google Analytics code or send it analytics requests. Declining does not affect access to this website.
If you opt in when it is available, Google processes page visits, browser and device information, and a cookie-generated identifier to help us understand website usage. Your IP address is necessarily transmitted to Google when your browser connects to its service. We do not send account details, advertising identifiers, URL query strings or fragments in our page-view events. Google Signals and advertising personalisation are disabled. This is website analytics, not game-session recording.
Our Analytics cookies are set to expire after 90 days without extending their lifetime on each visit. You can decline or withdraw permission using Privacy choices in the footer. Withdrawal disables future collection by this integration and clears its first-party Analytics cookies; it does not erase information already sent to Google. We also keep Analytics off when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Google may process information in countries outside your own. See Google’s privacy policy for its handling of data.
Advertising on the browser game page
We have prepared one Google AdSense display ad below the game and its controls. Ad requests stay disabled until our consent setup is ready. Once enabled, Google’s advertising and consent services can receive your IP address, browser and device information and may use cookies or local storage according to the choices available to you. We do not put ads over gameplay, use advertising pop-ups or interrupt a ride with a web ad break.
Where consent is required, Google’s consent message provides consent, decline and manage-options choices. Ad privacy choices are separate from “Allow analytics.” Declining, using a content blocker or an unavailable ad does not stop the game. We do not load this advertising integration when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
When advertising is enabled, use the “Ad privacy choices” link next to the ad to reopen Google’s available consent settings. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s advertising information. Google may process information outside your country. Ad availability is not guaranteed.
No account, newsletter signup or payment is required to play. Fonts, artwork, game files and preview videos are delivered with the site rather than third-party font or video services.
Age choices in the native apps
Magpie Panic is intended for children as well as older players. The native family build asks you to choose an age range once: under 13, 13 to 17, 18 or over, or “Prefer not to say.” We do not ask for your date of birth, name or an account. Only the broad range and whether this screen is complete are saved on your device. The app does not send this age choice to Mindset Cyber, Google or an analytics provider.
Every choice, including “Prefer not to say,” receives the same child-directed advertising settings. Selecting an older range does not enable personalised ads or different rewards. Google receives the same child-directed and under-age treatment signals for everyone, not your selected range. The age choice is not permission for personalised advertising.
Google Play age checks in the Android app
The Android app also uses Google Play Age Signals, separately from the local age choice above. Google Play may ask you or your parent whether to share an age range. Where applicable, it may require an age or parental-approval check in the Play Store before play can continue.
We use the returned range and approval status only for age-appropriate handling inside the app. They stay in memory for the current app session and are not saved to your game record, sent to Mindset Cyber, or used for advertising, analytics, marketing or profiling. We do not read or retain the API’s install identifier. Declining optional sharing or an unavailable signal is treated as unknown, not as an adult. An explicit outstanding Play verification or parental-approval requirement remains unresolved until Play provides a successful response.
This check does not change the child-directed ad settings or create an account. Google Play manages its own age-sharing controls and data handling under Google Play’s terms. See Google’s Age Signals information for details.
Advertising in the Android app
The Android public release includes Google AdMob, separately from this website’s AdSense ads. When advertising is available and the privacy checks allow it, occasional full-screen ads may appear only between completed scored rides. They do not appear at startup, during a ride or in practice. The game requires at least four completed rides and five minutes of active play between ad opportunities, with no more than two ads in a rolling 15-minute window during an app session. An unavailable ad does not prevent you from continuing.
The Android family build requests non-personalised, child-directed ads with Google’s maximum content rating set to G. Publisher personalisation and publisher first-party ID are disabled, and no other ad-network mediation adapters are included. The build removes permissions for Android advertising ID, phone identifiers and device location. It does not ask for GPS access. These settings reduce data use, but advertising is not a zero-data service.
When the advertising and privacy services connect, Google receives network information such as your IP address, which can indicate your general location. Google’s Mobile Ads SDK also processes ad and app interactions, technical diagnostics and device or account identifiers such as App Set ID, subject to the configured restrictions. Google uses advertising data for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention and encrypts SDK traffic in transit. This is separate from our optional game analytics, which are disabled in the family build.
We use Google’s User Messaging Platform to check whether advertising can be requested with these restrictions. If that check fails or requires consent that this child-directed flow cannot obtain, advertising stays off and you can still play. Any available native ad privacy options are separate from this website’s choices. The app does not prompt children to accept personalised ads.
See Google’s privacy policy, how Google uses information from partner apps and Google’s Android advertising SDK data disclosure. Google may process information outside your country. Ad availability and review approval are not guaranteed.
Advertising in the planned iOS release
The iPhone release is being prepared with Google AdMob and the same between-rides limits described above. TestFlight builds use Google test ads unless a build is explicitly identified otherwise. The production configuration requests child-directed, non-personalised ads rated G for every age choice. Publisher personalisation and publisher first-party ID are disabled. No other advertising network adapters are included.
The iOS family build does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, GPS access or your advertising identifier for cross-app tracking. Google’s child-directed treatment restricts advertising-identifier use. This does not mean that Google receives no data: its advertising and consent SDKs may process IP-based general location, app- or device-bounded identifiers, ad views and interactions, performance information and other diagnostics to provide, measure and protect their services. Google’s privacy checks must allow an ad request before ads are enabled.
See Google’s iOS advertising SDK data disclosure and Google’s privacy policy. The iOS family build, like the Android family build, disables PostHog analytics and Sentry error reporting.
Apple age checks in the planned iOS release
The iOS release being prepared uses Apple’s Declared Age Range service on supported systems to check whether an Apple age-sharing requirement applies. Where required, Apple presents its own age-range sharing flow. We do not ask for your date of birth or an identity document, and the local age choice above is not a substitute for a required Apple check.
The returned age-range bounds and check status stay in memory for the current app session. They are not saved to your game record, sent to Mindset Cyber or Google, or used for advertising, analytics or profiling. An unavailable or declined response is not treated as an adult. An explicit unresolved Apple sharing requirement prevents a ride from starting until the check is resolved. An unknown check error keeps ads off; it does not enable personalised advertising.
Apple manages its age-sharing controls and the system’s handling of age information. See Apple’s age-assurance information and Apple’s privacy policy. These checks do not create a game account or change our child-directed advertising settings.
Native game records and deletion
Native scores, progress, settings and the age-range choice are stored on your device. The Android family build disables automatic app-data backup and does not provide a game account or cloud save. Clearing the app’s storage in Android Settings removes these local records and makes the age screen appear again. It does not delete information already processed by Google. Google’s privacy policy explains its retention and available privacy controls.
On iPhone, deleting the app removes its on-device game records; offloading it can retain them. Apple device backups may include local app data depending on your settings. Magpie Panic does not provide its own cloud-save service. Deleting the app does not erase data already processed by an advertising provider.
Optional game analytics and diagnostics
The native family build disables both PostHog usage analytics and Sentry error reporting for every age range, even if an older installation saved an opt-in choice. Accepting website analytics does not enable either service in the game. Google’s own advertising diagnostics, described above, are separate.
Other native builds may offer separate “Usage analytics” and “Error reports” choices in Settings → Privacy. Both are off by default and remain inactive unless their project identifiers are configured in that build. The following optional controls apply only to a build that makes these services available, not the Android or iOS family releases.
If you turn on gameplay analytics, PostHog receives a small set of events such as starting or finishing a ride, practice, completing the tutorial or reaching a goal. These can include score, distance, duration, practice mode, the reason a ride ended, platform and app version. A random, session-only identifier is held in memory and resets on a new launch or when you opt out and later opt in again. We do not attach your name, email address, account identity or advertising identifier, and we do not record sessions.
If you turn on error reports, Sentry receives technical error and crash information with operating-system and device context to help fix bugs. Screenshots, scene-tree capture, source-code context, local variables, log attachments, session replay and performance tracing are disabled in this integration. An ordinary in-game fall is a gameplay event, not an application crash.
You can turn either choice off in Settings → Privacy. This stops future capture and cancels unsent gameplay events in the app. It cannot recall reports already sent, requests already in flight, or erase information held by a provider. The app tries to exclude identifying fields, but network connections necessarily disclose your IP address to the receiving service. Providers may process information outside your country.
See PostHog’s privacy policy and Sentry’s privacy policy. Scores and gameplay settings remain stored on your device independently of these optional choices.

If that changes
We will update this page if our services or data handling change. Visiting the site is not consent to optional analytics or game telemetry. Native app advertising uses its own privacy checks and any applicable in-app controls, separately from website ads.
